Gana Adhikar News, Guwahati, May 25 : The Al Ameen Welfare Society (AAWS) has expressed grief at the demise of former Commissioner of Taxes, Government of Assam, Jb. Sofikul Hussain Choudhury. It may be mentioned that the former Commissioner had passed away on May 23 in his residence at Sijubari at Hatigaon in Guwahati . He was 92.
“ He was an efficient officer and was a member in the finance advisory committee of the state even after his retirement”, Al Ameen Welfare Society (AAWS) said in a glowing tribute to the departed soul.
Jb. Sofikul Hussain Choudhury was also associated with the AAWS and his death is a big loss to the state and to his community, a condolence message released by the president of AAWS S. R. Saikia and its secretary general T Rahman said.
“ We deeply condole his demise and pray to the Almighty Allah for the eternal peace of the departed soul. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul Firdous”, the AAWS condolence message reads, adding, “The society also conveys its heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family”.
