Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta lifts spirits of frontline Covid workers deployed at Assam-Bengal border hub Sagolia

Gana Adhikar News, Sagolia in Dhubri (Assam-Bengal border ), May 25 :  To take stock of the state of Covid management mechanism in place along the highly sensitive Assam-Bengal frontier points as well as to lift the spirits of frontline Covid workers deployed there in these times of Covid crisis across the country, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma  made a whirlwind tour of two vital border hubs of Srirampur and Sagolia business corridor today.

During his second leg of today’s visit, the visiting Chief Minister interacted with local administration, border police officials and medics deployed at the sensitive inter-state border transaction point of Sagolia and stressed on the urgency of being highly vigilant of all cross-border movement of goods and persons at a time when the state was focussed on winning the battle against second wave of Covid.   

Explaining the reason for his visit to the small border business hub in Dhubri district, the Chief Minister said, “Sagolia is an important border corridor of Assam. The success of our fight against Covid also depends on management of this border including transportation of passengers and goods’.
