GA News, Barpeta, May 20 : Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged Doctors in the state to put their best foot forward so that the state could emerge out of the current wave of Covid crisis with minimum loss of lives. The Chief Minister made the appeal while on tour to Barpeta this morning to take stock of the Covid situation and treatment facilities in the district.
During his tour to Dr Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College & Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta, the state’s new Chief Minister reviewed the medical facilities including critical care amenities for COVID19 patients. Dr Himanta urged doctors to leave no stone unturned so that the state could emerge out of the virus pandemic with minimum loss of lives.
The Chief Minister further directed FAAMCH authorities to procure 50 Medical Oxygen Concentrators by Friday and to make a 15 bedded ICU ward operational within the next two days.
He also directed the Health authorities to ramp up RTPCR test at least by 20 percent of the current total Rapid Antigen Test and to intensify vaccination drive and procure required doses from Guwahati.
During his meeting at FAAMCH, Dr Himanta issued instruction to the Joint Director of Health Services to travel extensively and monitor medical facilities so as to ensure that the best treatment and facilities for Covid patients were readily available.
