Gana Adhikar News, Guwahati and Srirampur (Assam-Bengal border), May 25 : Right after a ‘reinvigorating’ early morning Yoga session with some of his ministerial and senior party colleagues at the BJP’s headquarters in Guwahati city today, the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took a chopper to reach the border town of Srirampur where he held a key review meeting with local administration officials, medics and border check points personnel on Covid management viz a viz inter-state movement issues amidst the risks of virus transmission. Srirampur is Assam’s frontier town with the neighboring state of Bengal and registers heavy inter-state road traffic.
During his visit to Srirampur, the Chief Minister was accompanied by the state’s Health Minister Keshab Mahanta and CEC of BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) Pramod Boro.
” We advised testing, caution and increased vigilance’, Chief Minister Dr Himanta said soon after today’ meet.
The visiting Chief Minister further reviewed the data of incoming vehicles at Srirampur inter-state check point and directed the district and health authorities to ensure Covid testing and strict isolation of positive cases.
